First edition, printed in an edition of 1000 hand numbered copies ( this is N°523 ).

Hardcover, fine green cloth over boards with blind title stamped on front cover and spine under photographically illustrated dust jacket.
96 pages with 84 four-color full page plates, printed in an oversized format on heavy matt paper, and bound in Japanese cloth.

12 years after the publication of his first « Landscape » book ( also by Nazraeli ) Shibata has moved to large-format color photographs, maintening as his subject the anti-erosion engineering structures so prevalent in the mountains inland region of Japan.

Condition: very good : just a tiny blue ink line ( 3 cm ) on the white back cover of the dust jacket, near the spine, otherwise perfect.
